2010 marks the twenty-fourth edition of the Polignac Festival.
This festival, which originated as the “7 Chapels Festival",
was created by Prince Louis de Polignac to provide a cultural
and artistic dimension to the town of Guidel and its region,
the heart b.
The event is now one of the regular works of the Polignac Foundation
(the Forteresse Polignac Foundation and the Ker-Jean Polignac Foundation),
established as a public service organised.
Their chief mission is to support art in all its forms, in keeping
with the family’s emblematic tradition of patronage
that has existed since the 17th century.
Princess Constance de Polignac, President of both Foundations,
carries on the tradition of previous Festivals by hosting
the outstanding performers of our time in Guidel along
with budding artists, to whom she provides the opportunity
to be heard. She opens the festival to a large audience,
and this year the Festival will feature both instrumental and vocal works.

The exceptional, world-acclaimed countertenor Max Emanuel Cencic
will open the 2010 edition. Jean-François Zygel and his partner
Antoine Hervé
will engage in their favourite exercise:
two-piano improvisation, while Marcel Boungou will have the Festival
vibrating to the sound of African rhythms and contemporary gospel.
The two great French musicians Claire Désert et Anne Gastinel
will pay tribute to Beethoven, Brahms and Franck. Lastly, as every year,
the young award winners of the Groupe Banque Populaire Foundation,
all destined for brilliant careers, will demonstrate their talent.
